Food Balance Sheet Project Launched

Every municipality is striving for self-reliant on food supply through agriculture-oriented policy and programs during or post COVID 19. Vijaya Development Resource Centre (VDRC- Nepal) in partnership with Open Society Policy Center (OPSC) has launched a project Sustaining Municipal Food and Nutrition Security using Food Balance Sheet Approach from October 1, 2020. Project covers an insight to adopt and apply strategies for internal production and inter-municipal coordination and marketing of surplus over Gaindakot, Devchuli, Binayitriveni, Bulingtar municipalities and Bharatpur Metropolis Ward No. 14. Inception phase; Inception meeting and finalizing the model and items of balance sheet have been carried out in Gaindakot, Bulingtar and Bharatpur Metropolis Ward No. 14.Leads of all the local levels are very positive towards this project, which will strengthen the data recording system of respective Palika and provide insights from future planning.
