Change Starts at Home: Kick Off for the Last Round of Survey
VDRC-Nepal in partnership with Equal Access International (EAI) is making innovative use of media and group discussion for target couples and their families aiming to reduce violence against women and girls (VAWG). For this, some of the intervention like radio program broadcast and discussion on it, religious leader's speech relating to violence, street drama performance, documentary exhibition etc. has been carried out. The study on VAWG especially focused on intimate partner violence is a strategic concept for preventing the violence prevalent in our society. The study covers 36 then VDCs (then) (18 interventions and 18 controls) of Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Kapilvastu.
Baseline and mid line survey has been completed a year back. In line with project design, it is needed to accomplish three surveys in Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Kapilvastu. Now, VDRC-Nepal and EAI signed the contract to enter into end line survey in concerned VDCs of all three districts. For this, VDRC-Nepal has hired staff and recruiter and mobilized them for the recruitment of respondents. The end line survey is underway in Chitwan, Nawalparasi and Kapilvastu districts.
